Michael Iwaskewycz earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from Coastal Carolina University in 2015, followed by his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Gannon University in 2021. Since graduating, he has gained diverse clinical experience across multiple settings, including inpatient rehabilitation, home health, skilled nursing facilities, acute care, and outpatient clinics.
For the past two years, Michael has worked as a travel physical therapist, serving patients across the United States. His journey has taken him to Washington, Colorado, New Mexico, North Carolina, Maryland, and Ohio. In July 2025, he joined The Physical Therapy Institute and now serves as a full-time staff Physical Therapist at the Moon Township location. He and his wife have recently returned to Pennsylvania and are excited to serve the Pittsburgh community.
Michael’s passion for physical therapy was shaped by his background in competitive sports and lifelong interest in fitness and recreation. He strives to be a well-rounded therapist, committed to working with patients from all walks of life and with a wide range of needs.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys staying active through workouts and recreational sports, spending quality time with his wife, family and their German Shepherd, Raikou, and connecting with friends over game nights. He’s also an avid traveler, anime fan, and video game enthusiast. When exploring new places, you’ll likely find him hiking in a National Park or spelunking in a cave.
